Tunstall-Grant’s unselfish service and untiring advocacy for the arts and youth inspired many creative activists. Telling her story spotlights her many collaborators, both within and beyond the art scene. She brought the first art education program directly to underserved San José schools. She co-founded Genesis, a space for the arts and music, at three downtown locations. She initiated the arts program at the Santa Clara County Children’s Shelter, and founded Hands on the Arts Festival in Sunnyvale, now entering its 33rd year.
